The Gurgaon Football Federation (GFF) has teamed up with DLF, to bring the children a football league – exclusively for the DLF5 residents.
The DLF5 Football League extends a great opportunity for the children, between the age group of 5 to 16 years, to participate in Gurgaon’s very first competitive, organised football set up. The idea of the setup is to develop an inter-community competition, which brings together players from all the 14 DLF5 communities to compete against each other.
By embracing FIFA’s philosophy that there is ‘no better teacher than sport’, The GFF hopes that this initiative will not only develop skills for the pitch, but will also aid personal development by helping children develop important life skills, such as, communication, teamwork, leadership, discipline etc.
There will be a minimum of 10 teams per age group. All the teams will feature in a single group, with the teams playing against each other twice, and having 3 points awarded for a win, and 1 point for a draw.
The league will run from the end of October ’14 to the end of March ’15, with the team finishing top going straight through to the play-off final. The teams who finish 2nd and 3rd will contest in a play-off semi-final with the winner going through to the final.
The initiative caters to both boys and girls.
