Now taking care of all your pets’ needs will be a breeze as we explore a one-of-its-kind veterinary clinic located in Gurgaon.
Anyone who owns a pet would agree to the fact that they are an intrinsic part of their lives and are more like family. But when it comes to pet clinics, one would hardly find any in the vicinity, world-class facilities being out of question.
While healthcare facilities have improved tremendously over the past few years for us, there still aren’t too many pet clinics in and around NCR. DLF noticed this gap in vet-care facilities and to bridge the same, the group came up with CGS Hospital two-and-a-half years ago. The hospital is the country’s first well-equipped private veterinary facility for small animals and aims to give the best care to our furry friends.
Back in 2010, when the hospital was opened, it only had five doctors but today, it boasts of a staff of over 45 with eight specialist doctors. Situated in DLF 3, the hospital is spread over a sprawling 17,000 sq ft of covered area in a plot area of 1.25 acres and boasts of facilities like a 24-hour emergency service, high-end diagnostics with in-house laboratory testing like ELIZA tests, rapid cards, separate OPDs for dogs and cats, modern operation theatres with facility of special CO2 laser surgeries, endoscopy, laser lithotrypsy, computerised radiography, gas anesthesia, fully-equipped veterinary laboratory, pre- and post-operative as well as boarding kennels.
And that’s not all… The hospital also aims to get a blood bank, cataract surgery centre, stem cell therapy and blood aphrenesis in near future. Talking more about it, Dr Samar S Mahendran, MVSc (Veterinary Surgery & Radiology) and director of CGS Hospital, says, “In the past decade, pet care and grooming has witnessed a drastic change. There is a serious need for better facilities for pets to make sure they are healthy. We aim to provide world-class facilities to our furry friends.”
The hospital gets about 150 patients every month out of which 10 per cent are cats. “There has been a substantial rise in the population of pet cats perhaps due to the fact that they are easy to take care of,” adds Dr Mahendran. The hospital has 30 kennels for in-patients pets along with 30 individual kennels for holiday boarding dogs and three for cats. It also treats stray animals and is planning to convert six kennels exclusively for them.
CGS Hospital also offers pet grooming facilities as the physical appearance of your pet influences the way it feels. Pet grooming is essential not only for your pet’s physical health but also its physiological and psychological well-being. A one-stop destination for all what your pet needs, be it grooming, health or holiday boarding, CGS Hospital strives to make your pet feel loved and at home. Apart from the usual grooming facilities, the centre provides spa services for dogs and cats.
