DLF 5 sets up electric substation for residents
Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) are essential in the transmission of electrical energy to growing urban centres where conventional
air insulated substations can no longer meet the requirements of available space, pollution, safety and maintenance. To meet this
demand, DLF has set up its own electric substation at DLF 5, the first ever by a private developer in Haryana. Spread over 1.25 acres, the substation has a capacity of 60MVA with three 16/20 MVA, 66/11 kV transformers and SCADA system for monitoring and controlling 66kV GIS equipment. It was inaugurated by Rajesh Gupta, senior engineer, HVPNL and Manoj K Vats, executive
engineer, HVPNL, Gurgaon.

Dlf 5 security team foils robbery bid
Prompt response by a team of security guards helped foil a robbery bid in DLF 5 with the aid of CCTV cameras recently. The
incident had taken place at Royalton Towers when a gang of carjackers, apparently involved in more than 100 cases of theft of
car tyres, robbery and murder, were trying to steal the tyres of a Maruti Alto car parked near the residential complex but were noticed by a security guard. He, in turn, informed the DLF Security Central Control Room through wireless and two Quick Reaction Team (QRT) vehicles reached the spot within a few minutes and blocked the entry and exit points on the road. Meanwhile, the security guards informed the police and simultaneously monitored the robbers on CCTV. While trying
to escape, one of the robbers fired at the security guards and injured one of them. The gang also rammed their vehicle into the
barricade put up by the QRT vehicles and fled towards Kanhai village. Two of the accused were later arrested. Sharing the details, DS Malik, head of DLF Security, said, “The CCTV cameras were great help as they enabled us to monitor the live act and guide QRT vehicles to the right spot.” The city police also lauded the quick response by the security guards who will soon be given commendation certificates for their bravery and quick act.
