Avantage Tennis is a tennis academy started by Nitya Arora Dingankar, a former tennis player, who was ranked no. 1 in the women’s category in West Bengal and played at the national level in India during the early 90s. She developed her formative years playing under the tutelage of Indian tennis greats like Akhtar Ali and Enrico Piperno. She further developed her tennis skills in the US where she played collegiate tennis at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA, and was also the Captain of the tennis team at the university.
After working in the business world as an investment banker with RBS for few years, Nitya decided to pursue her first love and passion, which is tennis. After gaining experience of running her own program and then working with Team Tennis (which has produced Davis Cup and Fed Cup players), Nitya has gained insight into the gaps and challenges of running a high performance tennis program. She is also certified as an All India Tennis Association (AITA) and USPTR coach.
It is with these insights and understanding that she has decided to start her own program which fills in the gap of current tennis programs. The program that she has developed has a structured and focused approach towards teaching the game. Some of the areas of difference are:
- Highly structured program, with emphasis on learning the core fundamentals of the game including mental, physical, tactical and technical aspects
- Use of latest international coaching techniques and methods
- Higher level program- with low student to coach ratio and training and development structured to individual kids. One for all Vs One for One
- Customized equipment for children aged 4-10 years to enable faster learning and development
The academy offers various programs for children aged 4 years and above and is operational between the hours of 3 pm to 7 pm, Monday through Saturday. We conduct hourly batches, three and six times a week depending on the level of the individual. The academy is open to non-members.
