Summer vacations will soon be here so we suggest options to spend your time constructively and creatively.
If there’s one good thing about the hot and sultry months, it is the summer break, especially for students who look forward to these as the period of enjoyment. But soon these vacations they thought would bring in fun and frolic turn boring. And these students find themselves pondering on what to do and how to utilise their vacations in a more constructive way. Here are five ways on how you can utilise your summer break:
Develop a hobby
If you have been complaining all through the year that you don’t get enough time to take up guitar lessons due to long hours at school and tuition classes thereafter, this is the time to indulge in it. Enroll yourself into a class not just to know how you like playing the guitar but also to find out if you have a knack for the instrument. This not only increases your concentration level but gives your personality an edge. And who knows this hobby could take you round the world in future.
Go on a holiday with friends or family
The trips undertaken during childhood days are the best ones, not only because they form a canvas of memories and learning for our life but also letting you explore yourself while you traverse a new place. It is also the best time to travel as when you are young and free, work worries and hundreds of other issues don’t
tend to bother you.
Get off play stations and i-Pads and look out of the window. You don’t need to go far into the woods to appreciate the bounties of Mother Nature. Start with the ones closer to you, from the park across the road to the sanctuaries on the outskirts of the city where you can get your friends together and plan a day picnic. The idea is to be close to Nature.
Benefits of reading
Something that doesn’t need to be re-told. Too much of it has already been talked about by teachers and elders but as you read this, we’d just say read as much as you can. The knowledge you get and the world you travel through a book has no limits.
Volunteer for a cause
Take up a community service activity and get sensitised to a cause. You can offer your help at an old-age home or you can teach children of the domestic help who comes to your house. The idea is to be of use to someone
who needs it.
